Skate and Photo Session in Orem, Utah


After a long day sitting in classrooms Tom Thompson and I hit the Orem skatepark to get some exercise and work on our photography skills. Shooting skateboarding is on of the more challenging disciplines in photography. If you have never done it I'd suggest going to your local park and playing with it. But first go to a bookstore and look at the magazines. It's all about creativity, off-camera flash and wide-angles!
The above photo is Tom going frontside in Orem's concrete bowl. The light was great, beautiful clouds and the setting sun behind me. This was around 8:30 last night.

Cool shot David...who have thunk Tommy was a skater boy!!! To bad you didn't have April Lavine jumping on the top of a Taxi in the background!

...guess you need to see the video to appreciate that comment.

Nice shot. Looks better then I deserve. Had a great time skating with you Dave. Taking photos of skating rocks. Hope to do more this year.
